Objective
Convey the artistic style of Japanese artist, Yayoki Kusama, through environmentally friendly packaging. Kusama uses paint almost everyday to create her “obsessional” art that is immediately recognizable. Her color palettes are iconic, and perfect inspiration for a brand of interior powdered paint.
Approach
I took inspiration from her extensive use of polka dots and infinity installations that are inspired by her hallucinations. I made sure to use circle packaging to represent polka dots. I laser cut the wood to give a an expensive feel, because her artwork sells for millions of dollars. I used sustainable packaging and a “green” color palette to combine it with the colors of Yayoki Kusama.
